Blogging life

I’m all about sharing the joy of a blogging lifestyle because it is so fun!

And if I can help you discover this world of creative possibility, then yay!

So if you find yourself in need of a creative and/or money-making outlet, here’s a list of some of the best things about blogging!

Let’s get right to it! (Yes, that was a lot of exclamation points. I mean them.)

What I love about blogging life

#1- You can work alone & independently

Blogging is fantastic for introverts, people who like working alone, and those who would rather NEVER have a group project or discussion.

I personally do my best work when I can be alone and completely focused. What about you?

Many writers need solitude to write, but you may also like writing in a coffee shop or other public space. You don’t have to talk to anyone while you’re working, but you can strike up a conversation if you want.

#2- You’re in charge

One of the best things about the blogging life is that “it’s your chicken.” (My southern husband’s saying, LOL.)

As a blogger, you’re your own boss. You are the one in charge and you make all the decisions. If you love having complete creative control, you’ll be thrilled at this aspect of blogging.

#3- No glass ceiling

There are bloggers who make 100,000 per month and more, like Michelle from Making Sense of Cents.

In 5-10 years, a similar level of income could potentially be yours.

I believe anyone (but not everyone) can find joyful blogging success and enjoy blogging rock-stardom!

Passion, talent, time, mindset, consistency, education, and hard work are truly the secrets to blogging success. Not to mention patience!

It takes time to create a bunch of content.

Thankfully, creating content is fun. You will make many mistakes along the way. But you will learn so much.

#4- Work as much or as little (within reason) as you want

Many bloggers don’t work full time, (or anywhere near it) and still make either decent supplemental income or a full income.

Of course, you must be consistent and put in the work. Especially in the first 6 months to a year, but it’s not like you have to work a certain amount.

You can also create your own schedule, working wherever and whenever.

Consider starting your blog without putting too much pressure on yourself to make money right away. Simply have fun blogging, getting to know the blogging life!

#5- You can do ALL the creative things!

As a blogger, you’re not limited to just one or two creative or interesting tasks.

You’re writing, photographing, creating pins using graphic design software, educating yourself on Pinterest, researching topics that interest you, and more!

#6- In time, you will learn many blogging secrets!

And the fastest way to learn those secrets? Take courses! (More on this in a minute.)

As a blogger, you never stop learning. You become an internet insider, staying on top of the curve of knowledge about how internet marketing works.

You’ll learn about keywords, SEO, and graphic design.

Most importantly, you will learn what people NEED in life.

Finding out what people needs empowers you because you’ll realize you can be helpful to the world. You’ll find a way to connect the dots between what you can offer and what people need.

You will discover how to help/inspire/entertain others.

And you’ll learn to harness your creative energy to create content while making money from courses, affiliate marketing, products, or other methods.

#7- Blogging life leads to other related online business ventures

As you discover blogging information and resources on Pinterest, you can’t help but notice and click on tons of other online-business-related articles.

You may get tips on how to sell on Amazon or Etsy, how to create graphic art, or how to publish on Amazon KDP.

On the blogging life journey, you can’t help but stumble upon tons of other fascinating ideas.

#8- You become an expert, leader, and teacher in life

I know so much more now about blogging than I did a year ago. I’m not an expert yet, but I’m getting there.

One thing that’s really helped me is the online courses I’ve invested in. Here are the courses I’ve taken and personally recommend:

Kickstart Your Blog by Raelyn Tan. A comprehensive and thorough course with some TERRIFIC blogging tips. A great investment and priced very well for the value.

Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers by Carly@mommyonpurpose.com (Her courses are on her Blogging Like You Mean It site.)

Pinteresting Strategies by Carly@mommyonpurpose.com.

These courses have helped me immensely.

The point is, as you learn more and more, you can teach more and more. You can make money by designing your own courses or products.

Teach your kids, nieces, and nephews. Help your small-business-owning friend who needs a website. Assist your artist friend who knows nothing about marketing.

You have the power to help other people reach their dreams by creating an online presence.

#9- You get to play on Pinterest

Did you land on this article via Pinterest?

We all love Pinterest! It’s a helpful place to market your blog, and you will likely spend a good amount of time on it. And yay because that is fun. Know that it’s also important to learn good SEO for ranking in Google.

#10- Blogging is a fun way to make money

Many jobs are not. Truth.

Blogging is like a video game.

It’s fun to watch your followers go up, exciting to see your stats on Google Analytics, and rewarding having your pins getting pinned on Pinterest.

Of course, it’s the best when you start making decent money! When I made my first affiliate sale I was so happy. Happier still once I got decent ads!

As you blog on, you reach new “levels” of skill- be those skills in writing, pin design, marketing techniques, or other areas.

You’ll find yourself learning something new and going AH-HA!

And those AH-HA’s are what lead you to make money!

I’ve had so many AH-HA! moments lately I can’t keep up with all the ideas.

(If only I had a bit more time but… kids! Mommin’ ain’t easy.)

Is the blogging life for you?

Blogging is an investment in your future, and a fun one at that!

If you work hard and blog on with the right SEO strategies and mindset, you will make money in time.

You will connect to your audience.

You will be able to grow your blog into a business that could help you quit your job for good.
